School, swinging and cereal

Sorry I haven't been keeping up lately! The kids really have been adorable but I've just forgotten to brag about it!

Kaitlyn has been learning about fire safety this past week. Everyday she's told Mommy a fact about what to do if there is a fire. She says "Feel the door. If it is hot, don't open it. Jump out the window. Ha ha ha!" She has said she thinks jumping out the window is pretty funny. I guess if you take out the danger of a fire and picture it, it IS pretty funny! She also has learned MANY words in sign language. Her daycare teacher Ms. Reynolds (different from her preschool teacher, Ms. Woods) knows sign language and teaches the kids. She knows sister, borther, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, eat, sit, done, please, thank you, PLUS more. She also is learning the alphabet. Its impressive! When her hands move around, she looks so grown-up!

Kaitlyn has recently learned to swing! She has been begging for pushes up until recently. She used to whine "I can't do it!". Her teachers told her she needed to do it herself and she figured it out! She pumps like a champ and "can almost touch the trees" as she says. :)

Allison is also learning lots! She's a chatterbox. Especially if you leave her alone in a room. You can hear her babbling throughout the house. She has also started eating rice cereal! This kid LOVES to eat! From the first time, she started to understand she needed to bring the cereal in her mouth and swallow. Before the cereal goes in her mouth, she smacks her mouth letting you know she is HUNGRY! She even does it when the rest of us are sitting around eating dinner! Only problem is she has a tendency to try to "help" by putting her hand on the spoon and guiding it in. Then she continues to suck her fingers after the spoon is gone. THEN, of course, wipes her hands all over her face spreading the cereal over her cheeks, forehead, eyelids and everywhere else.

Allison rolled over all by herself! Unfortunately she is the 2nd child and therefore I am doing terribly at documenting it and have now forgoetten which day it happened, but it was sometime between 10/3 - 10/7. She was on her belly and quickly rolled to her back. She hasn't repeated the action since, but she's still very physically active. She rolls back and forth on her back (kind of side to side) and when she sits in a bouncer or swing she is ALWAYS trying to sit up. I'm not sure she'll be crawling or walking sooner than Kaitlyn did (10 months and 12 months respectively) but she sure seems more active.

We are having a Halloween party! Taking little ones trick-or-treating isn't always easy since its so cold and isn't always safe. So instead we figured we'd have some other kids/babies over and let them have some fun indoors with their cool costumes on. Kaitlyn will be a witch this Halloween and Allison will be her black cat (although, the cat is EXTREMELY adorable instead of scary). Can someone say "Photo op"? :)
