Our whole family - title by Kaitlyn

As you probably already know, I am pregnant with our second daughter and am due May 9. Our first daughter, Kaitlyn (who is now 4-years old) was not ready to be born and had to be induced after going 11 days over her due date. Talk about stubborn. I had happily heard that with second babies, they typically come earlier. "Not so" says my OB doctor. Apparently the fact that I was late before AND the fact that I am a tall woman means my chances of having a baby by May 9 are not looking good. She even suggested I tell everyone my due date is Memorial Day so that everyone leaves me alone when I'm a week past my due date and cranky about being asked "Where's the baby?" So.... if its May 20 and you haven't heard about a baby yet, don't think its because you missed the announcement. I'll probably still be at home contemplating drinking castor oil to induce labor on my own.

As of today, I have exactly 2 months before my due date. I feel HUGE and am so ready to be done! In the grand scheme of life, this pregnancy has not been that bad. But that doesn't mean I'm enjoying it! I had lots of morning sickness in the beginning which wore me out fast. The second trimester the sickness went away and my belly popped out WAY before I expected it to. People were guessing I was 7 months pregnant back wen I was only 4.5 months pregnant. And now that I'm actually in my third trimester, I'm just uncomfortable. I get winded walking to the printer at work. I waddle. I groan and moan while doing any task, like getting in my car. I have night sweats every night (think menopause-type of sweating). And these are just the sypmtoms that have bothered me in the last 24 hours! But as I said, over all the pregnancy is a healthy one. The baby is growing perfectly. All the test have come out great. And I get kicked on a regular basis which, while annoying at times, is a sign of a healthy baby. So despite all of my whining, I do breathe a sigh of relief every night knowing that everything is going so well.

Now my husband.... HE. IS. AMAZING. He has taken over everything in the house. After work, I usually only have enough energy to change my clothes and climb into bed. This leaves him to run the house by cooking most dinners, doing the laundry, doing the dishes, taking care of Kaitlyn, shoveling snow and whatever else needs to be done. Meanwhile, I lay in bed whining. I am incredibly thankful he is the man he is and is so giving. I probably owe him season tickets to the Packers or something, don't I? ;)

And last but not least there is Kaitlyn. Our hilarious 4-year old. Case in point: she is eating an apple right now and just re-enacted the scene in Snow White where she "falls down dead" after eating the apple. She is going to be a great big sister and she has lots of plans of playing peek-a-boo with the baby and helping with diapers (I'm not holding my breath on how helpful she'll be with the diaper thing). And if you see Kaitlyn, ask to feel her baby. She'll have you put your hand on her belly and will even make the baby "kick". ;)

And...uhh... don't tell her, but I almost forgot Roxie. Our little Chihuahua mix dog. Our first "baby". She's about 9 or 10 years old now and is still her same old goofy self, ears and all. She has learned to cope with Kaitlyn and they seem to wrestle around on a daily basis. Roxie also insists on cuddling up to my belly every night. This is cozy for the first couple hours before Tim gets to bed, but then its just crowded! I think our next big purchase will have to be a king size bed!

So, that's us!
