I had a doctor appointment this morning and everything is going fine. The baby was moving around as the woman tried to get her heartbeat. It took a while for her to find a spot where she could hear it clearly, but she finally did and the heartbeat was 150 (again, the baby was moving a lot!). I'm measuring right on target and my blood pressure looks good.
The only thing that doesn't look good to ME is that number on the scale! OUCH! I am currently at a number I have never seen before. Not even in the last pregnancy. But really, what do I expect with all of the Mexican food and ice cream I've been eating??? My philspophy has always been, if I have to gain a bunch of weight anyway for pregnancy, why not make the most of it? I think I'm modeling my eating habits after one of my favorite movies, "Defending Your Life". The movie is about how when you die, you go to this intermidiary place where you have to prove you are ready to move on to heaven. If not, you're sent back to earth for another life. In this limbo area, you can eat ANYTHING you want and you will never gain weight and never get sick. How is this not HEAVEN?!?! Well, recent heartburn is telling me I'm not actually free from sickness and that scale just brought me back to reality that I DO gain weight with all of this eating. Darn.
- Frozen burritos with lots of sour cream
- Ice cream from Stone Cold Creamery - almost any "creation" will do as long as there are no nuts
- Daily chocolate...usually in the form of a Twix bar
- Grapefruit juice - and not that wimpy Ruby Red stuff but the REAL stuff
- Crab rangoons (huge craving in the first half of pregnancy)
- Slurpees (again, a big craving in the beginning)
- Anything MexicanI promise I'm eating more than this and some of what I eat is actually healthy-ish. Let's just hope I've been more healthy than not. Otherwise this kid's first words might be "Yo quiero Taco Bell".
