Day 7 - #365grateful

Unfortunately, I dropped my phone in the toilet (yes, I've always wondered how so many people drop their phones in toilets, of all places, and now I've joined the club), so my photos from yesterday are trapped on the phone which is currently sitting in a bag of rice which is supposed to dry out the phone. Hence the reason this post is late. I thought about being grateful for the rice, but I'm going to wait on that until I take the phone out in 3 days to see if the trick actually works on my phone. So instead, I will be grateful for the time I had with my daughter yesterday.

As many other local children have, Kaitlyn has been out of school since one day before the planned winter break due to ice and snow. Hopefully today is the last day, because these kids NEED to go back to school! They've got some BAD cabin fever! I felt bad for Kaitlyn yesterday so I decided to brave the roads (slowly) and get her out of the house. I gave her the choice of Jumpin' Jax and Impression 5 and she chose Impression 5 Science Museum (a hands on museum).

We normally love that place, but unfortunately they had a bit of a bird problem yesterday. Due to the cold, a number of birds were sneaking into the building to get warm. By the time we got there, they had already caught and released 10 birds and there were still several throughout the building. They were harmless overall, but I suffer from Ornithophobia which is the "abnormal and irrational fear of birds" (Although I think the fear is totally rational based on my past experiences). Kaitlyn is aware of my fear and was such a sweetheart about it. She did increase some of my jumpiness at times by pointing out where the birds were when I really didn't need to know, but she was trying to be helpful. After the bird ordeal, we picked up my husband Tim and went to Tom + Chee for lunch.

I'm very grateful I got to spend some time with my kiddo, despite the fear that ran through my bones. And thanks to Kaitlyn for being such a trooper and hanging out with me!
